Provider Store Pop-Up at The Galeries

Sydney CBD | Until Sunday 25 October

Provider Store has teamed up with The Galeries for a Japanese-inspired scent pop-up featuring three limited-edition candles created for Incu, Salomon and Books Kinokuniya. Each fragrance takes cues from the retailer behind it, spanning alpine forests, hinoki and amber to warm woods and sandalwood. Spend $300 across The Galeries in one day and you can choose one of the 295ml candles to take home for free.

Maple Social Club Long Weekend Party

Bondi | Saturday 3 October

Maple Social Club is all about making it easier to meet new people and make friends in Sydney, and this long weekend they’re throwing a huge free day party at Beach Road Hotel. Around 800 people are expected to join, with DJs, dancing and an afternoon in the sun from 3pm through to sunset. Come with friends or head along solo and meet some new ones.

Blend Theory x The Grounds Coffee Factory

Eveleigh | Monday 5 October

Blend Theory is teaming up with The Grounds Coffee Factory for a free long weekend day party in Eveleigh. Taking over the huge Coffee Factory space, the morning-to-afternoon session will bring together DJs Isa, Nadz, Nat4sha and Zoyzee for a mix of R&B, hip-hop, baile funk and more. If you’re looking for something to do on the public holiday, this one starts early and wraps by 1:30pm.

Leather Journal Workshop

Spend an afternoon making your own B6 leather journal at this small-group workshop by Used to Muse. Nø Flowers Mahjong Club at Sakura House

Sydney CBD | Tuesday 6 October

Nø Flowers Mahjong Club is taking over Sakura House for a night of Hong Kong rules mahjong in the CBD basement izakaya. Beginners are welcome, with teaching assistants on hand throughout the night and food and drinks available from the bar.

Ash Holmes: Vessels

Sydney artist Ash Holmes returns to HAKE HOUSE with Vessels, a new solo exhibition exploring memory, family history and the things that hold and protect us. The show features a new collection of paintings, including works created on upcycled sailcloth, alongside sculptural pieces by Nathan Martin of Saturday Yard Work. It marks Holmes’ return to Sydney following exhibitions in Copenhagen and London.

House of Hymns: Karaoke With a 12-Person Live Choir

Newtown | Thursday 15 October

House of Hymns is back after a sold-out debut, turning karaoke into a full-scale live performance at Pleasure Club. Take the mic for pop and queer anthems from the likes of Kylie Minogue, Lady Gaga, Robyn and Chappell Roan, backed by a 12-person choir. No singing experience is needed, with performers choosing from the night’s curated ‘Book of Hymns’ ahead of the show.

Surf + Sound Festival

Manly | Friday 16 October – Sunday 1 November

Surf + Sound Festival is taking over Manly Wharf and Manly Beach for more than two weeks of live music, art and surfing. The line-up includes Skegss, The Whitlams, Babe Rainbow, Kita Alexander and Yolanda Be Cool at Felons Manly, before Winston Surfshirt closes out the festival at a secret Manly Wharf location. There’s also a free immersive art program across the wharf and a two-day Boardrider Battle at Manly Beach led by world champion Joel Parkinson.

DKNY is taking over Khanom House for International Coffee Day with a one-day café inspired by its new Be Delicious Latte fragrance collection.
