Carriageworks Farmers Market
Every Saturday | 8am - 1pm

Held inside the old Eveleigh railway workshops, Carriageworks is a Saturday ritual for many locals. It’s where chefs, home cooks and city-dwellers come to shop for the week, grab a coffee, and catch up with friends. You’ll find seasonal produce, fresh flowers, sourdough, small-batch sauces, handmade pasta and pastries. Regulars include Pepe Saya, AP Bakery and Broomfields.

Kirribilli Markets is one of Sydney’s longest-running, set just under the Harbour Bridge with views across the water. It runs twice a month and features over 200 stalls, with a mix of vintage clothing, handmade ceramics, homewares, art, plants, gifts and street food. Lately, you’ll also find matcha stalls and newer small-batch brands popping up.
The second Sunday is the art, design and fashion edition held in the Burton Street Tunnel. The fourth Saturday takes over the bowling green with a broader mix of food, fashion and homewares. It’s popular, well-organised and easy to spend a few hours exploring.

A smaller community market with a strong local following, Flour Mill Markets is held in the courtyard of the old Summer Hill flour mill. Every Friday | From 4pm
Each Friday, Dixon Street fills with the scent of grilled skewers, fried snacks, and sweet custard buns. Dozens of stalls line the footpath, serving everything from dumplings and takoyaki to bubble tea and mango pancakes, alongside stalls selling trinkets, accessories and platform crocs.
It gets packed, especially around dinner time, but that’s part of the experience. Great for a pre-drinks bite, a casual wander, or a taste of Sydney’s late-night energy.

Across Sydney
Cambridge Markets run some of Sydney’s most scenic and well-loved market days, from beachfront stalls to inner-city setups. You’ll find them at Watsons Bay, Maroubra Beach, Cronulla, Green Square, and more, each location offering a slightly different vibe but always featuring a curated mix of fashion, homewares, art, gifts, and fresh produce. Expect live music, great food, and plenty of atmosphere.

Sydney Fish Market

The Sydney Fish Market is the largest of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, and a daily ritual for chefs, seafood lovers and the very early risers who turn up for the wholesale auction at 5:30am. You’ll find over 100 species traded each day, oysters, scallops, tuna, crab, lobster and more, plus stalls selling sashimi, fish and chips, lobster rolls and those cheesy baked scallops everyone queues for.
A brand new, expanded market is on the way, with more dining, more space and a better setup by the water. For now, it’s still loud, fast, a little chaotic and worth the visit.

Sydney Flower Market is where florists and flower lovers go to buy direct, big bunches, seasonal blooms and wholesale prices that beat anything in-store. The best picks go fast, so aim to arrive before 8am if you’re serious.
